Much of Southwest Florida is swamp and marshland and the biodiversity is stunning. We will explore several habitats for great photography opportunities. Besides the rich bird population, we’ll find an abundance of American alligators, which were brought back from the brink of extinction in 1967. They were removed from the Endangered Species List in 1987 and continue to thrive in SW Florida.
Your guide knows the secret spots to find many of the most beautiful species of birds in this area, and we will always be on the lookout for otters, bobcats, wild pigs as well as the elusive Florida panther. Our route will depend on where the most action has been recently, which can change fairly frequently. Constant awareness of our environment is also critical, in an environment with as many apex predators as this.
This tour will begin at first light and is planned for 6 hours.
Water will be provided, but bring a snack.
